UFC Fight Night 99 Mousasi vs. Hall 2: Picks, Prognostications, + Odds

November 19, 2016
SSE Arena
Belfast, Northern Ireland

Main Card on UFC Fight Pass:

#5 Gegard Mousasi (40-6-2) -525 vs. Uriah Hall (12-7) +450 2

"Sweet Sassy" Mousasi gets another chance at Hall after a Street Fighter combo of death blasted him out of the Octagon in September of '15. Since that meeting, Mousasi has gone 3-0 while Hall has gone 0-2. We're not going to sit here and bullshit you, nothing has changed. Gegard is the better fighter but Uriah just has that crazy powerful kicking game that just catches some guys off guard. And it will take another miracle for Hall to defeat a now highly motivated Mousasi who is heading to a Middleweight title shot. Hall is just looking to stay employed at this point and though he always has that knockout power in his hands and feet, the chances of him pulling the huge Upset again are doubtful.

WINNER-Gegard Mousasi by Rd.4 Submission

Ross Pearson (19-12) -105 vs. Stevie Ray (19-7) -105

Luck has never been kind to poor Ross. The guy is very talented and a good human being, but it just seems as if he's always a step behind. "The Real Deal" does a great job of mixing up the strikes he sends and is well rounded, but he does not wear damage well and is generally slower than all of his competition.

"Braveheart" won his 1st 3 bouts in the UFC but lost last out to Alan Patrick Silva Alves. The Scot is decently well versed in the arts as well but he has never faced the elite competition that Pearson has met.

Aarrgghh, this is a tough one. Our hearts are easily for Pearson but time is slipping away fast and Ross doesn't take much time off. We have this bad feeling that Ray is going to take the day.

Upset Pick WINNER-Stevie Ray by Decision

^ douche
Timothy Johnson (10-2) -145 vs. Alexander Volkov (26-6) +135

The "70's Porno Cop" (I mean look at his mustache) has been a surprise at big heavy going 2-1 only stumbling against boring blanket Jared Rosholt. This gut is every bit of 265 lbs. and is a good kickboxer with a body like Tim Sylvia. Brilliant breakdown, eh?

Alexander Volkov was a professional wrestler in the 80's, wait, wrong guy. "Drago" is coming from Moscow to make his UFC debut with a bit of hype. Volkov is a karate man which is rare at this weight.

"Porno Cop" has proven us wrong each time out so we're going to ride with him all the way to the money shot.

WINNER-Timothy Johnson by Decision

Artem Lobov (12-12) +205 vs. Teruto Ishihara (9-2-2) -225

Nobody is living off the name of Conor McGregor more than Lobov. He is interviewed all the time but its only questions about his training partner who happens to have made MMA history last weekend. Artem is a big puncher repping Ireland by way of Russia.

"Yashabo" is a crazy person who has been training in the Team Alpha Male camp and loves his "bitches." Sure the UFC has asked him to stop saying "bitches" in his charming way, but we are all Ishihara's "bitches." Teruto is a wild man who will go for odd striking stances which has earned him 8 (T)KO's in his career.

Art can catch anyone with a bomb but he's just not that good and Ishihara is going to be hard to handle lunatic style. We thinks it's going to be hard for Ishi to rally against what is likely to be a raucous crowd. Teruto is so undisciplined that he doesn't score as much as he should allowing Lobov to land cleaner and win on the cards.

Upset Pick WINNER-Artem Lobov by Decision

Prelims on UFC Fight Pass:

Ian McCall (13-5-1) vs. Neil Seery (16-12)

Well God, and dammit. "Uncle Creepy" cannot catch a friggin break. Ian was supposed to fight in
July but Justin Scoggins could not make weight. In September, Ray Borg was the opponent and he became ill causing scratch #2. Now, McCall himself has become sick and cannot compete on the Ireland card. Poor "Uncle Creepy." MMAFO still loves ya and we know soon, please and hopefully soon, you will come back for us.

Magnus Cedenblad (14-4) -230 vs. Jack Marshman (20-5) +210

"Jycken" is on a run winning 4 in a row since losing his debut in '12. The Swede is a giant 6' 3" and uses his size to out grapple foes.

"Marshmellow" is the current Cage Warriors Middleweight Champion who has won 6 in a row with knockout power.

Magnus can take the hits and should easily ground Jack and twist him into a pretzel.

WINNER-Magnus Cedenblad by Rd.1 Submission

#5 Kyoji Horiguchi (17-2) -200 vs. #9 Ali Bagautinov (14-4) +185

Oooh, now this is a fun Flyweight match up. Both guys hit with a vengeance and both fell short against kingpin Demetrious Johnson. Of course, Ali is a PED cheater and no, we haven't forgotten.

This is a coin flip match but we like Kyoji's accuracy and youth over Baggy's. Should be a good war!

WINNER-Kyoji Horiguchi by Decision

Kevin Lee (13-2) -115 vs. Magomed Mustafaev (14-1) +105

Mr. Lee is a priiiiiiick. But, he is a striking pro who has a weak jaw which is an endless source of amusement for us.

Magomed has been out almost a year but he's game for a throw down.

Actually, we like Mustafaev to get the jack on Kev who can't take a friggin punch. Yeah, that's right.

Upset Pick WINNER-Magomed Mustafaev by Rd. 2 KO

Anna Elmose (3-1) +115 vs. Amanda Cooper (1-2) -125

The UFC is trying to inject some new blood into the 135 roster. This has something to do with TUF 23 but stopped watching the show 15 years ago. What ev's.

Upset Pick WINNER-Anna Elmose by Rd.1 TKO

Justin Ledet (7-0) -145 vs. Mark Godbeer (13-2) +135

Speaking of new blood, Ledet took some time off to do some professional boxing but he had a successful return to MMA in February. Justin has also garnered 4 submissions in his career and should have more to offer than BAMMA's Godbeer.

WINNER-Justin Ledet by Rd.2 TKO

Zak Cummings (19-5) -165 vs. Alexander Yakovlev (23-7-1) +155

The Zak attack is back jack to give a smack. No idea why that just happened. Cummings is durable and will have a power advantage in every way here. Zak should take this on points.

WINNER-Zak Cummings by Decision

Marion Reneau (6-3) -215 vs. Milana Dudieva (11-4) +195

Reneau is 39 but she doesn't fight like it. "The Bruiser" started well enough but lost 2 in a row since meeting the best of the division.

Dudieva is 19 years younger than Marion and also got outclassed when she met Julianna Pena in April.

Milana has basically been doing this part time and is going to be unable to match the power coming from the Brazilian. We fully expect Marion to run over Dudet with ease.

WINNER-Marion Reneau by Decision

Brett Johns (12-0) -210 vs. Kwan Ho Kwak (9-0) +190

Kwan is a title collector who has already won the Top FC and PXC titles. Kwak has a litany of kick coming your way and wild striking. He's a fun reckless sort who trains with Korea Top Team alongside Hyun Gyu Lim and Dongi Yang.

Johns is collecting belts as well winning the Cage Warriors and Titan FC straps. Brett wrestles and that's what he do. And his staunch wrestling is what will ruin this outing and take the "o" from Kwak.

WINNER-Brett Johns by Decision

Charlie Ward (2-1) +280 vs. Adbul Razak Alhassan (6-0) -310

Charlie literally killed Joao Carvalho in a MMA bout so "The Hospital" can bang. Obviously, it wasn't his fault Joao perished but that's another story for another time. You cannot deny, that the aforementioned incident and training with Conor McGregor is what got Ward into the UFC in his homeland with so little experience.

ARA is coming undefeated and is going to blow Chuck out to the North Channel. Bet.

WINNER-Abdul Razak Alhassan by Rd.1 KO

Dong Hyun Kim (21-3-1, 1) vs. Gunnar Nelson (15-2-1)
"Gunni" suffered an injury and this bout has also been cancelled
